Trastevere Tour: Trastevere is the most typical and picturesque of Rome’s neighbourhoods, it preserved the old-fashioned buildings, whose charm remained intact over the centuries.
Duration 2h : 30m
12 participants maximum
Roll with ease through this tangle of little streets just as the afternoon light is held captive by the antique architecture. It is this soulful and vibrant atmosphere which has rendered the popular Trastevere area unique and captivating!
The narrow streets outline the ancient buildings and squares, allowing the eye to glimpse at an artistic, warm, and dreamy Rome. Whizz across streets decorated by traditional restaurants, artisanal shops, and fountains, on a path submerged by scents and colors from every street vendors’ stalls.
Standing tall in the midst of this labyrinth of alleys are monuments such as Villa Farnesina, Palazzo Corsini and most significantly - the church of Santa Maria in Trastevere which we can visit inside as well.
To top it all off we will take a quick rest at the most romantic fountain of Rome, l’Acqua Paola, before going up to the best and widest viewpoint of Rome from the Janiculum Hill - a more than easy climb by Segway. From there you can admire the statue of Garibaldi, who unified Italy, as well as the whole Historical Center and on St Peter’s Basilica and Vatican’s gardens! And to come back, we will take a nice, pleasant path across the Isola Tiberina, the beautiful Ghetto, and the Theater Marcello.
We leave from our office on Piazza del Gesù 47/a.
Once you have arrived at our office you will be greeted by your guide for the tour and you will have to sign an agreement before you take a segway. For security reasons we will give you a helmet to wear (as well as a fluorescent gilet if the tour is during the evening/at night).
Afterwards we will explain to you how the segway works and you will have all the time you need to try them out and get used to them on Piazza del Gesù (a large pedestrian area).
And then... we’ll go on the tour!
We never hurry during these tours - the importance is for you to enjoy the tour the way you want to. If you want to stop and take photos, we will, and the same goes for wanting to take a quick rest. We will go at your own pace.
At the end of the tour we will come back to Piazza del Gesù and you will be able to take off the helmets and get off the segways in all tranquility.
The tour includes:
the guide + rental of the segways + helmets + lesson on how to drive the segways
Basically, there is nothing else to pay for!
