Top 10 Things to See in Rome: The itinerary unfolds with departure from the centre of Rome ( Via Cavour 80), proceeding towards the Appian Way, where we’ll stop to admire the Tomb of Cecilia Metella and the Massenzio Circus.

Top 10 Things to See in Rome We’ll carry on along the Appian Way up to the first stop: Castel Gandolfo, the summer residence of Popes since Urban VIII (1623) and the lake of the same name. We continue along towards Albano (Villa Doria) followed by Ariccia, where we’ll stop to enjoy a few local products at one of the typical “fraschette” (taverns). The last stop will be at Grottaferrata, at the Greek Abbey of San Nilo, founded in 1004 and called “An oriental jewel in the pontifical crown” by Pope Leo XIII. Finally, Frascati and the Villa Aldobrandini by architect Giacomo della Porta, one of the many architects who over several years were involved in the building of St. Peter’s Basilica.
