Drawing from worthy native varieties and top international grapes, Friulians have applied studied vineyard techniques and avant-garde enology to the production of highly distinctive whites, as well as some eminently attractive reds. The Collio is an area noted for the excellent DOC wines coming from its 1,600 hectares of hilly vineyards. The zone produces nineteen wines from its superb grapes, which are lovingly tended and hand-picked before being carefully selected and skilfully transformed in their cellars.
