Best Places to see in Rome The Standard Rome Shore Excursion Tour we provide in Rome is designed to cover the city major sites in one day. Additional off the beaten path tours can be arranged upon your request.
Pick up at the pier at 7:30 am will be right in front of the Boat exit door. There will be your driver with your last name printed on a paper-sheet sign. You’ll drive in a smooth motorway through the country and see the Etruscan Landscapes with a Luxury Mini Van. It will take approx. 80 minutes to get to Rome. Immediately you’ll be ready to visit the Vatican Museum where you will admire the vast collection of masterpieces, including the Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter Basilica. Admission to the Museum is 20 Euros per person and, if you wish to skip the line …. you should better have a licensed Private Guide in Rome from our staff that I can provide you at a price of 250 Euros for the day. The Guide is optional of course, but highly recommended to avoid all the lines in Rome!
Please, Here are the links where you can buy your entry fees to skip the lines (Vatican it’s closed on Sunday) Click here to buy Admission tickets for the Vatican Museum > at 9:00 am (on Wednesday book the tour for 1:30pm entry !!!)
The drive will continue along the Tiber River and In 5 minutes driving we will be at the Pantheon, the most well preserved monument you can see today after 2039 years still standing!!!, right after we will stop for lunch (not included) for some Pizza or Pasta, Tiramisu and gelato….
After lunch you will be visiting the Colosseum and see the Arch of Constantine and the Circus Maximus, the large ancient stadium used for chariot races just like in the movie Ben Hur.
Following the Coliseum, we will stop at the top of the Capitol Hill for a great view of the Roman Forum, then just drive to Piazza Venezia where you will see the Vittorio Emanuele Monument, dedicated to the first king of Italy, (the wedding-cake of Rome). The Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps will be the next stop, and please, let me tell you that the most famous Steps in the World are not Spanish but … built by an idea of the French Cardinal Du Polignac and the Italian Engineer De Sanctis! This will be just driving buy just because it’s a pedestrian area.
